A spectacular and unique example of its kind in Madrid, this neo-mudĂ©jar building of red tiles, red brick and ironwork feautures wonderful Arabic geometrical flourishes that are reminiscent of medieval buildings all over old Castile. You'll find it in the modern district of Salamanca on the corner where Alcalá and O'Donnell streets meet. It was designed by architect RodrĂguez Ayuso as a school for the intellectual Lucas Aguirre, and now houses council offices. It is not open to the public.
