A long-established eatery that has been in business since 1850, Carmencita began with serving typical Madrid specialties, but today it is more of a bistro producing homemade Basque cuisine. Try the hake croquettes, fried cuttlefish, Madrid-style tripe, meatballs or hake a la vasca. On Thursdays, the dish of the day is a hearty cocido madrileño (broth with chickpeas and meat). There is relaxing background music and a pleasant atmosphere. One private dining room with two tables is available.
